1988 saw the birth, in Barcelona, of Little Italy, a restaurant that captures the spirit of the Big Apple’s Italian quarter of the same name. Light, hustle and bustle, maggioratas, music, flower-laden balconies, washing on the line, a yearning for home... that is Little Italy. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then; even so, Little Italy has known how to move with the times. Year after year, it has continued to consolidate its character, becoming one of the essential, not-to-be-missed establishments in Barcelona. In January 2006, Little Italy opened two new restaurants, including El Marquès de l'Argentera, in which the essence of the first Little Italy in the Borne district is tangible. A jazz theme evoking the glamour and atmosphere of New York, with a varied, light menu combining Mediterranean specialities with traditional Italian dishes.
